About Tough Tracks 4x4 Club

The Australian Short Course Championship had brought together a diverse group of competitors and officials with one thing in common … a love of hard core 4WDriving. Many firm friendships developed and hard core day trips and weekends away became something to look forward to.

Late in 2004 several people decided to start a club that would concentrate on hard core recreational four wheel driving and the competitive side of the sport, whether that be competing, spectating, marshalling or just fun weekends with family and friends.

Various competitions around the South East Queensland area have Tough Tracks 4x4 Club members competing, helping out with marshalling or just going along to watch. Club trips to various 4WD parks and recreational areas are becoming increasingly common and social nights have also proven popular.

With the “Tough Tracks 4x4 Club” up and running we discussed the possibility of taking over the ASCC competition as the organizer had decided he no longer wanted to run it so we sat down and talked about the changes we thought would make for a better competition and found it would be better all round if we started up a completely new competition with new rules, new scoring and new specifications.

The internet made it a whole lot easier to discuss things but even so it took many hours of work behind the scenes to get the whole thing organized before we announced the start of a whole new 3 part competition series named “The Tough Tracks 4x4 Challenge”…
